RHODODENDRON CHRYSANTHUM. 533 extent that the sight is impeded by it; the eyeball appears to be in rotatory motion. RHEUIM. (See Jahr, p. 325.) Stool. —Diarrhoea of infants. RHODODENDRON CIIRYSANTHUM. (See Jahr, p. 326.) General Symptoms.-~Sub-inflammatory arthritic pains (after the acute inflammation had been removed by Acon., Arn., Sulph.) —*Tearing in the extremities, ~at night, with drawing, particularly in the right foot and forearm, without swelling or redness, becoming intolerable in bed; *shifting tearing, also commencing in the right upper arm, afterwards extending to the nape of the neck, back, and leg, where it changes to a stitching sensation, worse during rest and in changeable weather, with painfulness of the heels and difficulty of walking; ~violent tearing, setting in after the excessive use of mercury for syphilis, with swelling and redness of single joints, and aggravation of the pains at night and towards morning. —Violent drawing, pinching, and stitching in the limbs, with lameness of the same, and aggravation of the pains at night. Ears. —Buzzing and ringing in the ears, for many years. Teeth. —Arthritic pains in the teeth, especially at night, equally aggravated by cold and warm drinks; they can only be moderated by warm applications.-~Pains which return every spring and fall during a sharp east wind, continue for several weeks, with boring in one tooth, which feels as if in a vice, stitching extending into the ear; the pain is aggravated by touching the tooth, and is worse at night. Upper Extremities. —Weakness in both arms, with tingling as if gone to sleep, especially in bed, or also in very cold weather, especially during a storm. —~Swelling of the hands, with drawing tearing, first in the joint, afterwards in the dorsum of the hand. Lower Extremities. — Tearing in the lower limbs, especially in the hip-joints, worse during rest and in stormy weather, also especially at night; ~tearing from the thigh to the foot, worse during rest, with formication in the lower limb; the foot goes to sleep while sitting; the pain is worse in the forenoon, and the limb is stiffer. —~Cold swelling of the right knee, with ringing pains which extend into the leg, especially during rest and in bed. —~White swelling of the knee, with intolerable tearing extending to the leg, especially at
