VOCCvULUS. 143 ternal organs. —Empty or hollow feeling, or constriction in inner organs.-Painfulness of the extremities to contact. — Painful stiffness, cracking in the joints. —*Pains which appear on one side only.-~Arthritic complaints, with hot swelling of the parts. -*Cold, hard, glandular swellings, with stinging pains when touched.-Haemorrhages.-O Gastric and bilious conditions. — Sea-sickness. —~Ailments arising from riding in a carriage. —Ailments arising from chagrin, and abuse of chamomile. — Hysteric spasms, and complaints of various kinds, especially with sadness.- Chlorotic afections. —*Spasms and convulsions of the extremities, and whole body, ~also caused by touching painfully sensitive ulcers and wounds, or when attempting to use the parts. —*Epilepsy. — *Paralysis, especially hemiplegia. —*The pains are aggravated by sleeping, talking, eating or drinking, especially by coffee and tobacco. — * Weak and exhausted after the least bodily exertion, motion, or privation of sleep.- Want of animal spirits. -*Fainting fits. — Trembling. -Passing paroxysms of numbness, at times of the feet, at others of the hands. — Cannot bear the cold or warm open air. Skin.-Itching, especially in the evening when undressing, or at night under a feather-bed.-Red miliary pimples, itching in warmth.-Hard blotches with red areolae, and burning pain.-Red spots on the chest and sides of the neck. Sleep. —Continually sleepy, early in the morning.-Sopor vigil. —Sleep disturbed by frightful anguish and restlessness. -Starting during sleep, also with cries, and striking about with the hands during sleep.-Anxious,frightful dreams.Dread of ghosts, at night. Fever. —Chilliness, and feeling of coldness, with trembling. -Intermittent fevers, with chilliness; the skin feeling hot to the hand. —Gastric anI bilious fevers, with nervous symptoms. -Lentescent typhus, or acute typhus, with loss of consciousness. Emotive Sphere. —*Melancholy sadreverie, after an insult. -"'Apprehensive anguish, fear of death.*Tendency to start.Excessive sensitiveness of feeling.-Disposition to feel offended, with vexed mood. Sentient Sphere.-Mania.-Mistaking the time, it passes off too quickly.-Cloudiness of the head, especially after eating or drinking. —Dulness of the head, worse after reading, or thinking. — Vertigo, as if intoxicated, or with inclination to vomit, when raising one's self in bed; one is obliged to lie down again. —*Vertigo, with nausea, and falling down without consciousness.-~Apoplexy, also after loss of blood. fead, —*Ileadache, as if the eyes would be torn out.
