NUX VOMICA. 621 Abdomen. — Colic after bathing, or from suppression of the haemorrhoidal flow. —Fulness in the epigastrium, after a slight meal. — Enteritis.-~Abdominal enlargement of children, with glandular swellings and consumption.-OF/atulent colic, as though the bowels were pressed between stones, ~early in the morning. —Colica plumbae. — Incarceration of hernia, caused by the bowels being too much distended by excrements, &c.; inveterate, large scrotal hernia, which can be kept in place only imperfectly by means of a truss; when the incarceration had been caused by an excess in eating or drinking, when the symptoms of incarceration develope themselves slowly, and the hernial sac is not yet entirely separated from the portion of the bowels contained in the abdominal cavity. — Vux romnica is likewise a remedy for spasmodic incarceration of hernia, or for subacute incarceration, in which case Nutx may be given after, or in alternation with, Aconite and Belladonna, especially when the symptoms are partly spasmodic, and partly inflammatory. —~Sudden and violent incarceration of hernia, characterized by a crampy and pressing sensation in the hernial region, violent drawing pains, with periodical tearing and a sort of spasmodic constriction in the whole abdomen; nausea, disposition to vomit or vomiting of a sour mucus, constipation with frequent urging; most of these phenomena are aggravated by motion, or by touching the hernia in the least. Stool and Anus. -~Constipation, with rush of blood to the head; ~with abdominal congestions,'caused by sedentary habits; or ~as if caused by stricture of the bowels. —Constipation of pregnant women, ~or from abuse of coffee. — ~Frequent urging, with tenesmus and pressure at the anus, and cutting around the navel. —~Hard stool, of large size.~Alternate constipation and diarrhcea.-ODischarge of blood during stool, also with sensation as if the rectum were constricted.-* Constriction of the rectum, impeding stool.~Taenia. —~Prolapsus of the rectum. —*Piles. Urinary Organs.- *Burning at the neck of the bladder and in the urethra, during micturition. —Spasmodic contraction of the urethra, with retention or difficult emission of urine. -~Colica renalis, caused by calculi, with violent vomiting, chills, &c., in the case of a man of thirty-eight years. Male Parts. —Condylomata on the glans, ~figwart.~Impotence, in consequence of nightly revelling. Female Parts. —~Internal swelling of the vagina, like prolapsus, with burning and intolerance of contact. —QFalse, spasmodic labor-pains.-~Metrorrhagia after confinement.
