CAUSTICUM. 119 Catarrhal Symptoms.-*Stoppage of the nose. —-*lry coryza all the time.-Fluent coryza, with nocturnal cough, rough hoarseness and headache.-Discharge of fetid mucus from the nose. Windpipe.-*Rough hoarseness, morning and evening.* Chronic hoarseness, with husky voice.-*Aphonia, owing to weakness of the pharyngeal muscles.-Sore feeling in the larynx, between the acts of swallowing. —Laryngeal phthi. sis?-Hawks up a good deal of mucus, especially early in the morning. —~Infiuenza.-Catarrh, with cough and smarting as from excoriation of the chest. —~Inability to raise the detached mucus.-Cough caused by talking and cold. — Nightcough. —*Short cough -owing to titillation and rawness in the throat.-Dry, hollow cough, with sore pain in the chest.Rattling in the chest when coughing.-Pain in the hip, when coughing. Chest and Respiration.-*Shortness of breath.-*Spasmodic tightness of the chest.-Sudden stoppage of breath when talking or walking rapidly.-The clothes feel tight on the chest.-Oppression of the chest.-Stitches in the chest and sternum, when drawing a long breath or when doing some bodily labour.-*Palpitation of the heart.-Oppression of the heart, with melancholy. —Stitches in the region of the heart. —The nipples are fissured and surrounded with tetters. — Deficient secretion of milk. Trunk.-Pain in the small of the back, rendering every motion painful. -Aching pain in the small of the back when sitting. —*Painful stiffness in the back, especially when rising from a seat.-*Drawing and tearing, also in the scapulae.Itching and tingling in the back.-*Rigidity in the nape of the neck.-Rash between the shoulders, behind.-Itching, humid herpes in the nape of the neck.-Goitre-shaped swelling of a cervical gland. Upper Extremities.-Pain in the arm, at night.-Dull, *drawing and tearing in the arms and hands.-Convulsive -movements and jactitation of the arms.-Pressure on the shoulders. —*Stitching pain in the lower arm, "from the finger to the elbow. — *Feeling of fulness in the hand when grasping any thing. -Drawing pain in the wrist and fingerjoints.-Spasmodie weakness and trembling of the hands. — Deadness and painful numbness of the fingers. —*Contraction and induration of the tendons of the fingers. —Itching herpes on the fingers. Lower Extremities.-*Pain in the hip-joint as if sprained. -Pain as if bruised in the thighs and legs, early in the morning, in bed.- *Rigid feeling in the joints of the legs and feet.
